How can peptides help me?
Strong clinical evidence

Can peptides help me lose weight?

This is the one area where peptides have unambiguous, large-scale clinical proof. GLP-1 and GLP-1/GIP receptor agonists produce 15–23% average body-weight reduction in randomised trials — results no other drug class has matched.

Who this applies to

Problems people bring to this category

  • Obesity and overweight with weight-related comorbidity
  • Type 2 diabetes and insulin resistance
  • Constant food preoccupation or "food noise"
  • Metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver (MASLD)
  • Cardiovascular risk reduction in established disease

Honest reading

What the evidence actually shows

  • Weight regain is the norm after stopping: withdrawal trials show most lost weight returns within a year, so this is chronic therapy rather than a course.
  • GI side effects (nausea, vomiting, constipation) affect a large minority and drive most discontinuations.
  • Roughly a quarter to 40% of the weight lost is lean mass unless resistance training and adequate protein intake are maintained.

Expectation setting

What peptides will not do here

  • It will not target fat in a specific body area.
  • It does not remove the need for diet, protein and training if you want to keep muscle.
  • Compounded or research-grade copies are not equivalent to approved products in purity or dose accuracy.
