Are peptides legal in Ohio?
Peptide drugs are federally regulated. State pharmacy law governs compounding and dispensing, and the state board follows FDA 503A/503B bulk-substance rules. The Ohio Board of Pharmacy has published explicit guidance that FDA Category 2 peptides may not be compounded in the state.

What this means practically
Approved peptide drugs such as semaglutide, tirzepatide, and tesamorelin are obtainable in Ohio with a valid prescription from a licensed practitioner, dispensed by a licensed pharmacy. Telehealth access is permitted.
Peptides on the FDA's 503A Category 2 bulk list — including BPC-157, CJC-1295, ipamorelin, and thymosin alpha-1 — cannot lawfully be compounded by any pharmacy in Ohio, regardless of state rules, because the restriction is federal. Products sold online as "research chemicals" are not approved for human use.
