Are peptides legal in New York?
Peptide drugs are federally regulated. State pharmacy law governs compounding and dispensing, and the state board follows FDA 503A/503B bulk-substance rules. New York imposes its own compounding regulations and has aggressive consumer-protection enforcement against unapproved injectable marketing.

What this means practically
Approved peptide drugs such as semaglutide, tirzepatide, and tesamorelin are obtainable in New York with a valid prescription from a licensed practitioner, dispensed by a licensed pharmacy. Telehealth access is permitted.
Peptides on the FDA's 503A Category 2 bulk list — including BPC-157, CJC-1295, ipamorelin, and thymosin alpha-1 — cannot lawfully be compounded by any pharmacy in New York, regardless of state rules, because the restriction is federal. Products sold online as "research chemicals" are not approved for human use.
